American Sunset RV Park Westport, WA
Pirate Days at American Sunset RV Park Westport, Washington Twenty coaches arrived at American Sunset RV Park, in Westport, WA for the Puget Sounders October rally. The theme for the week end was: "All things Pirate"
The hosts for the week end were Sharon Kelley & Steve Peery, Bobbi & Neil Radford and Gary & Gale Radecki.
Friday evening we got together in the club house for our Friday social. Besides the usual fare, Gary & Gale Radecki prepared Clam Chowder for our enjoyment. YUM! YUM! Everyone played “Pirate Trivia”, it was a test of our Pirate knowledge, or lack there of. There were prizes given to those in the know. The titles of “First mate”, “Deck Hand”, and “Swabbie”, went to: Tom Kunst, Gale Radecki, and Gary Radecki. Saturday morning our hosts treated us to a breakfast of Cackle Fruit (scrambled eggs), Parts of Pig (sausage & bacon), and Fruit ( to ward off scurvy). After breakfast the hosts handed us our challenge for the day. We were off on a Treasurer Hunt. The list of items were in the form of a description or riddle. We first had to figure out what was wanted and then find it. This was a timed event. In case of a tie the first in was the winner. At cocktail time on Saturday evening the “Treasurer Hunt” results were announced. The winners were Arnie & Linda Flagg (13 of 20), Ben & Donna Barker (10 of 20), and Bill & Helen Boice, just under the time wire (10 of 20). After dinner we went Racin'. We raced Pirate Ships 'Ore The Seven Seas. After an evening of racing “The Rulers of the Seas” were announced. In First Place, aboard the Black Pearl was Marilyn DeBlieck. Second Place was the Blue Lagoon captained by Gina Murphy, and Third place was Donna Diesher the skipper of the Scarlet Spinnaker. We had a number of chapter members dress for the occasion
